Oconomowoc takes LOL lead
Thanks to a pair of victories Saturday and Sunday, Oconomowoc's Land O' Lakes baseball team has taken sole possession of first place in the Western Division standings. Cooney leads the league with an 8-2 mark. West Bend and the Brookfield Blue Sox are tied for second at 7-3.
Games on Saturday saw the Blue Sox stop Menomonee Falls in 11 innings, 7-3, North Lake down Hartland 5-1, Oconomowoc edge Pewaukee 4-3, Sussex whip Lannon 16-7 and West Bend outlast the Brookfield Bulldogs, 10-8.
On Sunday, Oconomowoc downed Monches 8-5, the Bulldogs whipped Hartland 13-3, Menomonee Falls defeat Lannon 6-2, Pewaukee stop Merton 9-5, Sussex edge the Blue Sox 5-2 and West Bend hammer North Lake in eight innings, 17-0.
