Pick a fresh and fabulous strawberry dessert in Dousman.
Our wet and warm weather has made for a strawberry-luscious season. In celebration of everything strawberry, St. Mary’s Episcopal Church is holding its 24th annual Strawberry Festival from noon to 4:30 p.m. Sunday on the church grounds, highways 67 and 18 in the village of Dousman. Nearly anything delicious that can be made with the sweet, juicy, fruit will be available including schaum torte, shortcake, sundaes, shakes as well as fresh strawberries dipped in chocolate. And the fresh tastes of summer can be brought home in the form of freshly made bakery and jams, or order a whole pie by calling (262) 965-3924. While strawberries are the stars of the show, the event also includes live music, used book, CD and video sale, Haitian arts and crafts, and kids’ activities. Proceeds go toward the Episcopal Diocese of Milwaukee Haiti project.
