AHS baseball season ends
Arrowhead's varsity baseball team had its 2010 season come to an end Tuesday night as they lost to host Brookfield Central at McCoy Field in the opening round of the WIAA regional, 6-2.
The AHS season ended at 16-17, its first losing season in 24 years.
Jordan Paszek was the losing pitcher depsite tossing a three-hitter. He struck out six but walked five and hit two batters. The Warhawks were guilty of four errors. Three of the batters who walked scored runs.
Brady Williams had an RBI in the third inning and Jordy Pendergast singled in a run in the fifth.
AHS missed a golden opportunity to get back into the game in the third inning when they loaded the bases with nobody out and the top of the order coming to bat. They scored just one run.
Central scored three runs in the first and fourth innings.
AHS finished with five hits.

I'll put Coach Bigler against Mancuso any day and he'll out coach him everytime.

Mancuso is everything that is right about Highschool coaching. He knows baseball, he knows coaching and he knows how to relate to the young men that play the game. He actively coached every boy every inning helping them understand what was happening on the field and how to play the game better. If you had been paying any attention at all, you would have seen him individually address the players as they came off the field between innings explaining strategy or correcting an error in judgment or execution. That is what a Coach does,, HE COACHES!!! and did so with class, poise and excellent sportsmanship. He is a great role model and even if that has no value to you or others, I will take Vince Mancuso over any other candidate. Coach Mancuso is what every player and parent should want in a Coach.. and if that is not good enough for you, then take your kid to another school. Well Done Coach and best of luck in 2011.

Coach Mancuso is not a KID, we are not talking about a teacher fresh out of college with no coaching experience. Coach Mancuso has numerous experiences working with kids in Baseball, Football and Powerlifting. Baseball is his passion. He knows the sport and how to get the most out of kids.

Here's to another season of getting the least of out of his players and likely a losing season (although with as many kids out for baseball and the size of the school it's hard to imagine any coach having a losing season although he's batting 1.000 pun intended)
I'd also add that I too know Mr. Mancuso and have inside knowledge of the happenings. Not knocking the person but knocking the results. How quick we are to defend mediocrity. Sorry, I don't advocate settling for a "nice guy" when the nice guy doesn't get the results. You can defend him all you want... 16-17 speaks loud and clear.
