About Us
Lake Country Publications, based in Hartland, Wis., is a media house that publishes 10 newspaper editions each week, and 24 magazine editions a year and a Web page that is updated around the clock.
As part of Journal Community Publishing Group, Lake Country Publications and Mukwonago Publications serve western Waukesha County, plus parts of Walworth, Jefferson and Dodge counties, in the far reaches of the Milwaukee suburbs. That’s over 60,000 homes reached by the newspapers alone.
Our Web page, LivingLakeCountry.com, recently recognized by the Suburban Newspapers of America as the best overall local news site in America for papers with less than 100,000 circulation, has steadily increasing viewership with more than 225,000 page views per month and 40,000 unique visitors monthly. This community web site also includes staff-produced videos and photo galleries, forums, reader-submitted photos and stories and live blogging from sports and news events.
Our subscription newspapers, Lake Country Reporter (twice weekly, Tuesdays and Thursdays), Oconomowoc Focus (twice weekly, Tuesdays and Thursdays), Mukwonago Chief (weekly, Wednesdays), Sussex Sun (weekly, Wednesdays) and Kettle Moraine Index (weekly, Thursdays) are complemented by our newspapers that are inserted weekly in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel: Lake Country Living, Kettle Moraine Living (both on Sundays) and Waukesha Now (Thursdays). The newspapers date back as far as 1889 and serve as the official newspapers for almost all of the communities they cover.
Our controlled-circulation magazines reach niche markets, primarily in Waukesha County. 30 West is published monthly and reaches high-end homes on or near the dozens of lakes in northern Waukesha County. Metroparent West rounds out the specialty publication division, targeting Lake Country families with children, and is published in conjunction with Metroparent Magazine, long a recognized parenting monthly in Milwaukee.
