Students to compete in Case Competition
UW-Whitewater graduate students will battle against some of the best schools in Wisconsin at the Association for Corporate Growth Cup case competition.
The ACG Cup competition is designed to give students from leading MBA and graduate programs insights into their fields of finance, investment banking and private equity.
UW-Whitewater hosted the first round of competition on Saturday, Jan. 21. Groups of students from UW-Madison, UW-Milwaukee, Marquette University and UW-Whitewater presented their cases to a panel of professional judges.
One winning team from each school will compete in the regional finals on Saturday, Feb. 4, in Milwaukee for prizes totaling more than $8,000.
The competition is an opportunity for students to learn about corporate finance in a team-oriented setting.
"The students get a chance to build connections with the industry, while learning about the subject and different aspects of business," said Linda Yu, associate professor and chair of the Finance and Business Law Department.
Students competing from UW-Whitewater are Alexander Matyeev, Karoshibina Abraham Asiribo, Timothy Nolan, Jovanco Tembeleski, Nicole Mumm, Aaron Wenger, Mohammed Alduwais, Jiongwei Sun, Michael Simonson, Jonathon Isch, Marc Mulloy, and Zachary Hasenstein.
Judges for the competition are Yu; Christopher Nolte, vice president, alternate investments, Marcus Investments; and Chris Zuzick, Pentvia Partners.
