Four-time frog jumping champ one inch from win
Hunter Hettich entered the arena surrounded by shouts of encouragement Sunday. This was his fourth time taking the place of honor as the last jump at Dousman Derby Days Wisconsin State Championship Frog Jumping Contest - a spot reserved for the previous year's winner.(1)

Village of Wales - The Donna Lexa Memorial Art Fair, an annual event renowned for bringing fine art to Wales, is celebrating its 15th anniversary year and is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, along the Glacial Drumlin bike trail in Wales.
Book leads girl to journey of 1 00 paper cranes
When Sophia Knudsen, 9, of North Prairie started folding paper cranes for fun, she wasn't sure what she would do with them as the pile got bigger. About halfway through the collection that eventually grew to more than 100 cranes, Knudsen pulled inspiration from a story her third-grade class at Prairie View Elementary School had read.
Students win at math through online game
Students in Chad Buchholz's kindergarten class were introduced to DreamBox, an online math program, at the beginning of the semester. DreamBox allows students to choose their own learning path under the supervision of the classroom teacher. Buchholz is using the online program to develop a workshop model for his math class.

Annual public school open enrollment period nears
UPDATE on Feb. 7: Gov. Scott Walker has signed a bill that will change the deadline for open enrollment to April 30. The new law will go into effect once it is published.
