KM grad, Moore, 31, dies in car crash
Friends, family remember Moore's spirit, singing
Friends and family are mourning the death of Macie Moore, a 1999 Kettle Moraine High School graduate, who died in a car crash on Dec. 7, 2012 in Oklahoma.
Many remember Moore for her beautiful singing voice and sweet character. Former classmate Christy Schmidt said she always appreciated Moore's down-to-earth personality and sense of humor.
"I knew Macie in high school and got to know her best through choir. She wasn't a showy girl, not pushing to take the spotlight, so it was always a surprise when people heard her sing for the first time - her voice was breathtaking!" said Schmidt.
Moore, 31, lived in Genesee, and aftergraduating fromKettle Moraine, Moore attended the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown receiving an associate's degree and was employed as a surgery tech at Mercy Health in Oklahoma City.
Moore's Facebook page shows her love for her son, Andrew, 5. It's also flooded with posts from friends and family in remembrance.
"I know if you were here you'd tell us all not to cry and give us all hugs … But I know right now you are looking down on us, especially Andy, and giving us strength. I love you and miss you so much. The angels decided to make you their lead singer up there, so make em proud," wrote Becca Lynn Columbus.
"To everyone who knew her knows how funny and loving she was.. I am glad to say she was and always will be my friend.. I will miss you Macie Moore but I know I will see you again one day... To her family and son I am so sorry and have you all in my prayers..." writes Jay Wagner.
A memorial service was held Wednesday for Moore at Hayes Funeral Home Chapel in Guthrie, Okla. According to obituary information posted on tribune-democrat.com, Moore also loved hunting, fishing and the outdoors.
She is survived by her mother, Mary Sayles, father Jonathan Sayles, son, Andrew James Mooore and husband James Moore, sister Michelle Sorrell, and numerous other friends and family.
Friends organizing fund
Classmates of Moore, Daniel Nottling and Cheryl Dziadowicz are organizing a fund Moore's son. Dziadowicz said more information will be available soon.
