Summer Splash boasts tons of fun
Kids activities are free
Village of Wales - The fun doesn't stop after the Fourth of July holiday. In fact it's just getting started in Wales. For the sixth year, the village will hold its annual Summer Splash in Wales Community Park, 420 Brandybrook Road. The event boasts a weekend full of fun for the family - much of it free.
This year's event - on July 13 and 14 - promises to be bigger and better said Village Clerk Gail Tamez. Proceeds from the event support the village's park operations and recreation programs.
"We want to operate those things and do improvements without using residents' tax dollars," Tamez said.
New this year is a car show, cupcake baking contest and laser tag said Tamez.
"Returning will be a kick ball tournament because of popularity and the kids area was huge last year so it also will be returning and those activities are all free thanks to businesses," donating, she said.
