Third annual Pink Tie Gala offers unforgettable night
The concept of a "gala" or a ball may seem like it comes from hundreds of years ago. It's not often that there are many places to go out for a classy evening of dancing. One exception is the third annual Pink Tie Gala that runs from 6 to 11:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 28, at the Delafield Hotel. The event is a fundraiser for the Wisconsin Breast Cancer Showhouse and the Delafield Chamber of Commerce.
According to co-chairwoman of the event and past president of the Chamber of Commerce, Bonnie Dixon, the chamber puts on a number of events throughout the year to help the community and needs to raise funds to be able to continue to do so. One way to do this was through the Chamber Block Party and Music Festival during the summer.
Dixon's friend is president of the Wisconsin Breast Cancer Showhouse, which provides research for breast and prostate cancer.
They joined together to create this event that is beneficial for the chamber and for Wisconsin Breast Cancer Showhouse. The money raised is split between the two organizations.
The elegance begins with St. John's Northwestern Military Academy cadets at the doors. From there the guests register and have the option of to have a formal portrait taken with their dates and continue to enjoy appetizers, drinks and a silent auction. There will be about 20 to 30 auction items including trips. The Kettle Moraine High School Orchestra will entertain during the cocktail hour. "There's something from the moment you arrive," said Dixon.
The grand ballroom opens at 7 with dinner and silent auction. Dancing is from 7:30 to 11:30 to the sounds of Chris Mariani and his band.
Registration is $125 per person.
To register, contact The Delafield Chamber of Commerce at (262) 646-8100 or info@visit delafield.org.
