Lannon company to pay for pollution violations
Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen announced Wednesday that his office has filed a civil complaint and consent judgment in Waukesha County against Mill Valley Corporation in Lannon.
According to a press relase from Van Hollen's office, Mill Valley Corporation operates a non-metallic mining business with its principal operation at the Village of Lannon, as well as quarry operations at various locations in Waukesha and Washington Counties. The civil complaint alleges that Mill Valley Corporation did not have the required stormwater pollution prevention plans in place at its facilities located at Jackson, Lannon and Sussex. The civil complaint further alleges that discharges at the Lannon quarry impacted one acre of wetland and four acres of primary environmental corridor land connected to the wetlands. Additional violations are alleged at the Richfield quarry.
