Patrols increase in Lake Country after home invasions
Waukesha County Sheriff's Department deputies plan to step up patrols in Sussex, Lisbon and Merton after two home invasions in a Sussex subdivision near the village’s border with the Town of Lisbon.
County law enforcement authorities are urging Lake Country residents to lock their homes' doors at night or when the house is not occupied. They are also encouraging residents to make sure their vehicles are locked and any valuables in the vehicles are hidden from sight.
In addition to routine county patrols, the Sheriff’s Department has police-service contracts that provide additional patrols in each of the three communities.
“People in the Lake Country region are going to notice an increased presence of law enforcement during these ongoing investigations,” said Lt. James Gumm, Sussex police services director and officer in charge of operations at Waukesha County Sheriff’s Sussex substation.
Gumm asked residents in the area to be alert and report to the sheriff’s office any suspicious activities in their neighborhoods. The substation phone number is (262) 246-5237.

Take back the streets from these punks. New concealed gun law my not be a bad way to start discouraging criminals.

Feel bad for the victims.
It is a good reminder to lock up even in the warm summer. The unusual aspect is this happened while the residents were clearly home. That is scarry.
The current comments have used the label "punk" for the guilty person/persons.
That does not seem to fit. This sounds like a very clam, premeditated entry.
The dictionary defines it as:
Punk
