Ten Chimneys receives $40,000 grant
Genesee Depot - Through a $40,000 grant, the Greater Milwaukee Foundation will again provide lead support for the Ten Chimney Foundation’s Lunt-Fontanne Fellowship Program. The grant was made as a part of the Foundation’s first quarter competitive grantmaking process.
The national program began in 2007 as an opportunity for regional actors across the
country to hone their acting skills. Each summer, 10 top actors gather at Ten Chimneys, the former summer retreat of Alfred Lunt and Lynn Fontanne in Genesee Depot, for an intense weeklong session led by a master teacher. In 2012, Broadway legend Joel Grey will lead the program.
Also a part of the first-quarter cycle, the Greater Milwaukee Foundation awarded
$20,000 to the United Way in Waukesha County to enable the agency to identify and assess the health and sustainability of health and human service agencies in Waukesha County.
A final report and recommendations will be disseminated to the public. Overall, the Foundation awarded $618,00
