Walker announces December Senate election
A special election has been set for Dec. 4 to fill the 33rd State Senate seat vacated by Rich Zipperer (R-Pewaukee).
Zipperer submitted his resignation in August to take a position in Gov. Scott Walker's administration.
Candidates may begin circulating nomination papers today and must be filed by 5 p.m. Oct. 9. A primary will be held Nov. 6.
State Rep. Chris Kapenga (R-Delafield) and State Rep. Paul Farrow (R-Pewaukee) have both announced their intentions to seek the Senate seat. Both have also filed for Assembly seats, Kapenga in the 99th District and Farrow in the 98th.

However, couldn't the governor have timed his appointment of Sen. Zipperer so that the seat could be filled during the general election?
Now poll workers have to be hired for another election, the county may have to pay to have some poling places like schools kept open, and of course ballots will have to printed. The incremental cost to have added one race to the November ballot would have been very minimal -- just a small amount of ink since the main costs, paper and labor, were already covered.

article of no controversy. By the way, half the people in the state do NOT hate
Walker as 53% voted for him on June 5th. Maybe you were thinking of three
time state-wide loser Mayor Barrett.
