Oconomowoc Administrator Diane Gard first to earn Chamber award
The Oconomowoc Area Chamber of Commerce announces its 2012 Annual Awards recipients who will be recognized at a dinner at Golden Mast on Oct. 26.
City Administrator Diane Gard is the first recipient in the chamber's new award category recognizing women leaders in business.
Below is a list of the winners with information from the Chamber's release.
Citizen of the Year: Pam Thomas volunteer involvement is endless. She is the epitome of volunteerism in the Oconomowoc community.
Service Organization of the Year: Oconomowoc Public Education Foundation (OPEF). Its vision is to inspire creativity and excellence in Oconomowoc public
schools and make them a fountain of personal growth for the well-being of our local and global communities.
Green Business Awards
Small-size Business Category: Watertown Budget Print, Inc.S focuses every aspect of their business on reducing or eliminating dependence on fossil fuels or harmful chemicals.
Medium-size Business category: First Bank Financial Centre’s business plan incorporates initiatives to reduce electricity use and recycle as much materials as possible reducing costs.
Business of the Year
Small business: Culvers of Oconomowoc has been a part of the Oconomowoc community for almost 20 years. Giving back to the Oconomowoc community is at the core of their mission of treating their guests and employees with respect, honor and dignity as it completes the Circle of Life.
Large business: Target Oconomowoc Distribution Center is part of Target Corporation supply chain that provides products for the Target Stores in Wisconsin and Northern Illinois. Its Mission is to focus on the guest experience by delivering on their “Expect More Pay Less” brand promise.
Women In Business Leadership Award: Diane Gard, City of Oconomowoc Administrator, is the first-ever recipient of this new recognition. She is an exemplary example of a highly skilled manager whose leadership style and
professionalism have resulted in a fiscally responsible unit of government.
