Shooting in Town of Delafield

We just confirmed with Waukesha County Sheriff's Department that there has been a shooting in the Town of Delafield.

Sheriff Daniel Trawicki has prepared a news release stating the following:

At approximately 1:50 p.m. the Waukesha County Communication Center received a 911 call from a resident in the Town of Delafield reporting a 31 year-old male family member was suicidal and in possession of a shotgun. The caller reported that the shotgun was loaded and was discharged in the residence. Deputies from the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Office responded to the residence and made contact with the subject who had the shotgun inside of the residence. After repeated verbal demands to drop the weapon, a 22 year veteran deputy of the Waukesha Sheriff’s Office, discharged his service weapon and wounded the subject. The subject was disarmed and was transported by flight for life to Froedtert Hospital. His condition is unknown at this time.

This incident is being investigated by the Walworth County Sheriff’s Department.
