Oconomowoc council to consider controversial resolution to extend Thackeray Trail Tuesday
City of Oconomowoc - For more than a year residents of Whitman Hills Park subdivision have attended Common Council meetings to stay in the loop on the city's plans to extend Thackarey Trail to Silver Lake Street. The residents are opposed to the extension saying it is unnecessary and will create issues in their neighborhood.
The city has been studying the extension for several years culminating in work eyed at being done at the same time as storm sewer work in the area.
Officials will consider the resolution on Tuesday and it's likely that many of the residents will show up to speak against it. The residents have often worn the color red when attending past meetings to signify stop or slow down on the road extension.
Watch for this story in Tuesday's Oconomowoc Focus.
