Nagawicka diver dies
City of Delafield - A 32-year-old Milwaukee man died Saturday, Jan. 19, while scuba diving in Lake Nagawicka.
A problem with his equipment is thought to have led to the death of Steven G. LaLonde.
City of Delafield police and emergency personnel from Lake Country Fire and Resuce and the Town of Delafield Fire Department responded to the Naga-Waukee beach area at about 10:03 a.m. for a report of a scuba diver under the ice and in distress.
An officer arrived within minutes, but LaLonde had already been pulled from the water by other members of his group, and CPR was under way.
A news release from the Delafield Police Department indicates LaLonde and those whe was with were all experienced divers. An investigation is under way, but initial indications point to a possible problem with his equipment.
