Charges filed against Mukwonago athlete Cizauskas

A criminal complaint was filed this morning for Mukwonago multi-sport athlete Dominic Cizauskas.

The state has filed felony charges of third-degree sexual assault against him.

A signature bond is set in the amount of $500. Cizauskas was released with conditons. He is to have no contact, direct or indirect, with the victim. He is not to consume alcohol. He is not allowed on the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus, specifically Sellery Hall.

He has waived time limits for the preliminary hearing. This allows more time for evidence to be collected. He will be in court for a status conference at 1:30 p.m. March 31 in Dane County Courthouse.

Cizauskas competed with the Mukwonago boys basketball team at the state tournament Friday, when MHS was defeated in the Division 1 state semifinal by Neenah at the Kohl Center in Madison. In his career, Cizauskas scored 1,031 points, good for third-most in school history.

He made his mark on the football field, where he was named Wisconsin Football Coaches Association Defensive Player of the Year, leading Mukwonago to the state semifinal, where it fell to Franklin. He had verbally committed to play for the University of Wisconsin but did not sign his Letter of Intent on the usual signing day.

The senior also qualified for the state track and field meet last year in the shot put, placing eighth.
