What shopping venues does your community need?

June 29, 2009

What shopping do you wish was close to home? Are you longing for a particular big-box store? How about an IKEA or Nordstroms? Or maybe you'd like some more mom-and-pop venues? How about a old-fashioned local bakery or some other boutique? Send us your ideas and where you'd like to see them.

I know that my wife would love a Nordstroms in or around Delafield. She'd also like a Super Target.

I would absolutely love an IKEA, it'd be a great one-stop shop for college students looking to furnish their new digs and a trendy and affordable place to shop for those of us who can't afford the higher end home stores in the area.

I agree with all of the answers. It would be nice to have any of the mentioned stores move into the area. I wouldn't mind a few more family friendly restaurants like the Chancery, Friday's or Famous Dave's out this way either.

I would love to see a bigger Target store and a Trader Joe's.

As I often visit the area from Toledo I would like to see a Panera Bread or other coffee shop in Oconomowoc. I do drive to the Delafield store when I really want the wifi and coffee.

I'd like to see more clothing retail: Gap, old navy, anne taylor ...

Penzey's is an awesome spice store but the nearest location is in Brookfield. Reasonable prices and excellent quality (the spice aisle at grocery stores doesn't come close).
