North Lake - Flight for Life helicopters took two young children to the hospital following a two vehicle T-bone accident in North Lake this afternoon.
An SUV collided with a pick-up truck at Highway 83 and Kilbourne Road at about 11:30 a.m. today.
Two separate Flight for Life helicopters transported the children in the SUV to Froedtert Hospital. The SUV's roof was cut off to extricate one of the children from the vehicle. The driver of the SUV was taken by ambulance to Froedtert.
The driver of the pick-up truck was taken to Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital.
According to Detective Steve Pederson, it appeared the SUV was headed southbound on Highway 83 and the pick-up was headed northbound on the road when the SUV turned in front of the pick-up.
Highway 83 was shut down for accident investigation.
Responding department's included North Lake and Stone Bank fire departments and City of Delafield paramedics.
The Waukesha County Sheriff's Department is investigating.
