One student works at a Smart Board while a teacher pulls a bag of clay out for someone's project. Fifth-graders use iTouch to create video thank you notes for a presenter who visited the school while classmates check math work using a personal response system.

Funk Road will soon be history

They made paper hats and wore T-shirts commemorating the day. Their teacher even had them practice 100 seconds of silence. But they also used the big day to serve others.
