Man charged in Internet sex crime
A 51-year-old Oconomowoc man has been charged in Ozaukee County Circuit Court with a felony charge of causing a child to view/listen to sexual activity after he allegedly engaged in video chats and text messages with a 14-year-old Mequon girl.
James G. Orcholski, 1475 Knoll Terrace, faces a maximum fine of $10,000 and six years in jail if convicted of the crime.
According to the criminal complaint, the girl said she met the man in a Yahoo chat room in summer 2011.
She said that during various contacts with the man, she told him several times that she was 14. The girl said the two exchanged phone numbers.
The then-14-year-old said the two would also video chat, andeventually the conversation turned sexual in nature with the man asking her to touch her breasts and to perform sex acts.
Orcholski admitted to talking and video chatting with the girl and that the talks became sexual. He also told authorities he thought the girl was 18.
The girl's mother said she intercepted a call from the man on her daughter's phone and discovered inappropriate text messages.
Orcholski is scheduled to make his initial court appearance. Nov. 6
