Pewaukee native Joel Blenker has taken the light-hearted game of mini golf to a new level, competing in professional events on a national and even international level.

Fleet feet: Big guns headed to Arrowhead
Other than the season-ending WIAA state meet at Wisconsin Rapids, few cross-country meets can compare to the one scheduled for Thursday at Arrowhead High School. Beginning at 4:15 p.m., the Warhawks will host the 25th annual Arrowhead Invite.

League play begins for all this week
Arrowhead and Lake Country Lutheran are off to great starts in the 2010 football season, both sporting perfect 2-0 records. Kettle Moraine and Pewaukee are next with 1-1 marks, and St. John's Northwestern Military Academy has yet to find the win column in two starts. All five will be in action this Friday and Saturday.

LCL competes at Concordia Univ.
The Lake Country Lutheran cross-country teams took top-five finishes at the Milwaukee Lutheran Invitational on the campus of Concordia University Wisconsin on Sept. 4.

Lake Country golfers thrive in gusty winds
Arrowhead's girls golf team battled the wind at Merrill Hills on Tuesday but remained unfazed in the march toward a Classic 8 Conference title. With a round of 182, the Warhawks maintained their hold atop the league and bested second-place Kettle Moraine by 14 strokes.

Lake Country Lutheran and St. John's battled in a tight Lightning win Friday afternoon, Pewaukee met its match against Greendale and Kettle Moraine regrouped to top Oconomowoc in the second week of the football season.

Arrowhead spikers officially on statewide radar
Arrowhead won the Muskego Invite to further its case as one of the best teams in the area, Oconomowoc took second behind only talented Menomonee Falls at the Mukwonago Invite and Kettle Moraine took fourth at its own event.

Woodland streak ends with a thud
The big football game of the night in the Woodland Conference last Friday didn't turn out to be very big at all. In fact, if you're a fan of Pewaukee, the featured battle between the two favorites to win divisional league titles this season turned out to be a dud.

What a difference a week makes. Last week, the Kettle Moraine football team was getting run over by Cedarburg's running game, and Oconomowoc was handing Menomonee Falls a shocking first-week defeat.
