Native son Watt shines
Pewaukee's J.J. Watt has gone from a standout at Pewaukee High School to the cusp of the NFL as a member of the Wisconsin Badgers football team. After leading UW to the Rose Bowl, Watt was drafted 11th overall by the Houston Texans on April 28.

Everything was clicking last Wednesday for the Pewaukee boys golf team.

The 2012 Woodland Conference coed track meet turned out to be a short event for the Pewaukee track teams.

Warhawks softball still in Classic 8 driver's seat
Arrowhead's girls softball team continued to build its WIAA sectional resume last Thursday and Friday by piling up two more victories.

Arrowhead kickers win own quad
Arrowhead's soccer team outscored two foes by a 10-1 count at the Arrowhead Quad over the weekend. Including a 2-0 win over Muskego on May 17, the Warhawks brought a four-match winning streak into the week.

Another long walk unspoiled for Hawks
It's almost taken for granted that the Arrowhead boys golf team is going to win the Classic 8 Conference championship every year. It's been that way for most of the 15-year history of the talent-laden league, and it was that way again Thursday.

Golfers tie for second, take fourth at county championships
The surprise was not that quickly improving Brookfield Central won the team title at the Waukesha County Boys High School Golf Championships at Wanaki inLannon, but by how many strokes.
Girls soccer
Toureene on scoring spree for Pirates
The score changed on Day 2 of Pewaukee's segmented Woodland Conference soccer battle with Wauwatosa West, but the outcome didn't. After lightning postponed the game's final 25 minutes to the following day from May 15 to 16, both teams scored in what finished as a 1-1 tie.
Girls soccer
LCL still winning numbers game
It wouldn't be an unfair statement if Lake Country Lutheran/University Lake School soccer coach Jeremy Hedrick said his team's depth isn't very good.
Softball
KM goes 2-1 at Slinger
Kettle Moraine's softball team played four games late last week and came away with a 2-2 record. The Lasers now sit at 10-6 overall and 7-4 in Classic 8 Conference play. Arrowhead leads the league standings at 9-2.
Land O'Lakes
West Bend wins two more in LOL West
And then there was one. Just one undefeated team remains in the 12-team Land O'Lakes Western Division baseball league.
Softball
Thrill ride goes to Pirates
Wauwatosa West scored 10 runs in the top of the first inning on Monday, but it wasn't enough as the Pewaukee varsity girls softball team rallied back, scoring a 17-16 victory against the Trojans.
Track and field
Steinbach helps Badgers to title
Former Arrowhead athlete Derek Steinbach and his University of Wisconsin men's track team turned in some big performances last weekend at the Big Ten Championships in Madison at the McClimon Track and Soccer Complex.
Boys volleyball
V-ball coach resigns
Arrowhead High School athletic director Kevin Flegner told the Lake Country Reporter Tuesday that varsity boys volleyball coach Jean Henschel will resign this week.
