Pewaukee's J.J. Watt has gone from a standout at Pewaukee High School to the cusp of the NFL as a member of the Wisconsin Badgers football team. After leading UW to the Rose Bowl, Watt was drafted 11th overall by the Houston Texans on April 28.

Waukesha Wings earn hockey split
The combined Waukesha/Pewaukee varsity boys hockey team lost Marquette last week at the Naga-Waukee Ice Arena, 9-3. Marquette fired 48 shots at the Waukesha/PHS net. The Wings had just 24 shots on goal.

Johnson's goal a winner for AHS
Arrowhead's varsity boys hockey team broke a 2-2 first period tie by scoring a goal just 45 seconds into the second period, and that proved enough to defeat visiting Janesville on Tuesday night at the Mullett Ice Center, 3-2.

AHS gymnastics team pushes on
Arrowhead's varsity girls gymnastics competed in two three -team events this past week, finishing in third place at Mukwonago with 135.95 behind the Indians and the Franklin/Muskego/Whitnall/Oak Creek co-op.

Lake Country Lutheran's varsity boys basketball team lost by four points on Saturday against Milwaukee Messmer, 70-66, falling to 5-12 overall while Messmer improved to 13-3.

Kettle Moraine/Mukwonago/Oconomowoc tied Reedsburg/Wisconsin Dells on Tuesday, playing in the Wisconsin Dells, 2-2.

St. John's swim team wins
The St. John's Northwestern Military Academy/University Lake School boys swim team ended the dual meet season Monday afternoon by scoring a 79-77 win over Beaver Dam Wayland Academy.

Pirates girls get doubled over
New Berlin Eisenhower came up with clutch shots and sent the Pewaukee girls basketball team to a heartbreaking double overtime loss in the game of the year in the Woodland Conference.

Arrowhead swimmers win 11th straight title
Winning conference championships almost gets taken for granted by the Arrowhead varsity boys swim team. It's been that way since the first year of the Classic 8 Conference, back in 1998.

Wrestling
Grapplers land yet another league crown
The Pewaukee wrestling team continued its unbeaten streak in league duals this season, and the Pirates landed a bigger prize Saturday with a sixth straight Woodland Conference tournament title. Only four wrestlers returned from last year's league-winning crew, but with 234.5 points, Pewaukee won easily, ahead of second-place Wauwatosa (197.5).

KM clinches hockey crown
The Kettle Moraine/Mukwonago/Oconomowoc varsity boys hockey team has captured the outright championship in the Classic 8 Conference on Saturday, topping visiting Catholic Memorial/Milwaukee Pius at Naga-Waukee Ice Center, 7-3.
