Arrowhead boys hockey team splits
Arrowhead's varsity boys hockey team split a pair of games last Thursday and Saturday and now stands at 10-10-1 for the season.
The Warhawks whipped visiting Greendale on Thursday, 9-1 and then lost to host Cedarburg on Saturday, 4-2.
In the win over Greendale, junior Brian McColgan scored two goals, his first two-goal game of the year. Others scoring single goals were Colin Nowicki, Brett Stapelfeldt, John Sorenson, Sam Dvorak, Mike Adams, Ryan Anderson and Jack Bredeson.
Collecting assists for the Warhawks were Jared Johnson (3), Nick Peterson, Brian Sesolak (2), Nowicki, Sam Schultz, Bredeson, Stapelfeldt, Garrett Opay and Dvorak.
AHS goalie Tim Routes had 15 saves in the game.
In the loss to Cedarburg, the Warhawks fell behind 2-0 just 37 seconds into the second period and never had the lead. The Bulldogs (14-7) made it a 4-1 lead after two periods before Arrowhead scored the lone goal in the final period.
Adams and Peterson had the AHS goals and Johnson, Opay, Nowicki and Stapelfeldt had assists.
Routes saved 18 of 22 shots for Arrowhead. The Warhawks had 34 shots in the game.
