Strong finish for AHS swimmers
The dual-meet season is over for Arrowhead's varsity boys swim team, and the WIAA Division 1 sectional is next on the docket.
Swimming against Brookfield East last week in their final dual event of the year, the highly-ranked Warhawks rolled over the Spartans, 119-61. AHS won 9 of the 12 events.
Arrowhead won all three relays. The Warhawks won the 200-yard freestyle relay (1:27.55) with the team of Kyle Wenger, Jake Prodoehl, Evan Barta and Jake Barry. They won the 200 medley relay (1:38.38) with the combination of Barta, Roberto Lopez, Alex Avgoulas and Prodoehl.
AHS closed out the meet by winning the final event, the 400 freestyle relay. The team of Prodoehl, Barta, Wenger and Logan Kozlik were clocked at 3:18.59.
Winning individual races for the Warhawks were John Warren in the 200 freestyle (1:50.15), Prodoehl in the 50 freestyle (22.15), Allen Roller in the 100 butterfly (59.48), Barta in the 100 freestyle (47.85), Ignacio Ayoroa in the 500 freestyle (5:00.99) and Kozlik in the 100 backstroke (55.27).
The Arrowhead junior varsity team defeated East by a 94-81 score.
Individual winners for the Warhawks were Peter Sawall in the 50 freestyle and 100 freestyle, Ethan Heinze in diving, Corbin Grimes in the 500 freestyle, Patrick Sievert in the 100 backstroke and Jack Quinn in the 100 breaststroke.
Arrowhead won the 200 freestyle relay with team of Michael Sawall, Nikolas Rohne, Peter Sawall and Jakob Keller and the 200 freestyle relay with the combination of Rohne, Keller, Michael and Peter Sawall.
