U.S. Bank expansion creates jobs
Milwaukee - U.S. Bank is looking to hire 60 highly skilled technology team members for its Brookfield-based credit card issuing technology team.
Prescott Balch, U.S. Bank senior vice president and development manager for the bank's credit card technology team, said that the bank is currently taking applications through its Web site, usbank.com/careers, for positions that will become available immediately and throughout the year.
Balch noted U.S. Bank has a healthy card business which continues to grow both organically and through acquisitions. "Despite unprecedented legislative and competitive changes in the card industry, U.S. Bank continues to invest in this very important business," he said.
Balch said. U.S. Bank's technology and operations services group currently has approximately 300 employees supporting the credit card arm of its retail payments solutions group, which also provides debit and prepaid cards. About two-thirds of those are based in Brookfield, with the others in Portland, Minneapolis and Denver locations.
The additional jobs will bring U.S. Bank's total employees to 3,331 in Milwaukee and the Southeast Wisconsin area and 4,804 in the state. U.S. Bancorp is the parent company of U.S. Bank, the fifth largest commercial bank in the U.S.
Associated Banc donates big to Haiti
Associated Banc, together with colleagues, has donated more than $54,000 to the American Red Cross Haiti Relief Fund as a result of its companywide efforts to assist the Haitian community after the Jan. 12 earthquake.
Upon news of the devastating earthquake in Haiti, Associated implemented a companywide employee gift matching program. For every employee contribution to the earthquake-relief fund, the bank agreed to match it dollar-for-dollar.
"We are very grateful for the trust and confidence Associated has shown in our organization's ability to serve those in need in Haiti," said Steve Maricque, executive director of the Lakeland Chapter of the American Red Cross in Green Bay. "This gift will help tremendously to provide for the basic needs of the people affected and also assist with the recovery."
Associated has 291 banking offices, including one in Mukwonago and one in East Troy.
