Search is on for village administrator

Braatz to fill role temporarily

Village of Mukwonago - It has taken four months, but the village is ready to move ahead with filling the position vacated when Village Administrator Paul Moderacki resigned in October.

After a review of the role of village administrator, the Personnel Committee decided a full-time administrator is necessary for the village. The village plans to hire a company to gather and sort through applications in the next four to six weeks, according to Village President Fred Winchowky.

"Our goal is to get somebody in that position as quickly as possible, but it will probably be June or July," Winchowky added.

On Feb. 19, the Village Board named Village Clerk-Treasurer Steve Braatz as the interim village administrator until a replacement is hired. In the absence of an administrator, Braatz has taken on many of the duties; however, there are some tasks that require a village administrator, said Winchowky.

Moderacki left the village Oct. 23 after being placed on administrative leave on Sept. 20 while a personnel matter was reviewed. Neither Moderacki nor the village provided a reason for his resignation.

  1. Remember, Paul was hired because Steve Braatz couldn't handle it then!, it doesn't seem as though anything's changed! Why is this not an elected position??
