Grapplers win Classic 8 title
Despite eight conference champions in 14 flights for rival Arrowhead, it was the Indians who emerged with the Classic 8 Conference wrestling championship Saturday at Waukesha South. For the third time in four years, MHS took the crown after the Warhawks won the regular-season dual between the two programs.

It's hard to imagine that burying a buzzer-beating game winner would only be the second most amazing shot of Jenny Tuttle's evening.

Aaron Nixon is aware that his team struggles from time to time at the charity stripe, pointing out that Mukwonago is last in the Classic 8 Conference in free-throw percentage. One solution is to simply get there far more times than the other guy.

Melville leads swimmers at conference meet
J.J. Melville won a pair of events, and Waukesha West/Mukwonago placed fifth among nine teams at the Classic 8/Greater Metro Conference swimming and diving meet Saturday at Waukesha South.

Lasers take hockey crown
The Kettle Moraine/Mukwonago/Oconomowoc varsity boys hockey team has captured the outright championship in the Classic 8 Conference on Saturday, topping visiting Catholic Memorial/Milwaukee Pius at Naga-Waukee Ice Center, 7-3.
Girls hockey
Glacier hockey team heads into postseason
The Kettle Moraine Glacier co-op hockey team, featuring three players from Mukwonago, begins the WIAA postseason at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, possessing the second seed and facing Xavier at The Ponds in Brookfield.
Boys basketball
Hoops move into tie for first place
Since the foundation of the Classic 8 Conference in 1997, the Mukwonago boys basketball team has never finished better than 7-7.
Wrestling
The bigger they are … the faster they rise
Luke Belich wasn't sure he wanted to subject himself to another injury. Tyler Ladwig wasn't sure he could get his grades to the proper place. Mukwonago wrestling coach Jon Wierzbicki had to usher them both back to the mat.

First place showing for gymnasts
The combined Mukwonago/Kettle Moraine varsity girls gymnastics team keeps impressing.

Indians win thriller over Muskego
Amber Gray's putback in double overtime gave the Mukwonago girls basketball team an uplifting non-conference win over Muskego on Jan. 24, 60-59, giving the Indians a win over one of the area's premier programs.

The annual clash of titans with Arrowhead once again didn't go as Mukwonago hoped Friday. The Indians hope the script remains identical to last year's, however.
