Co-op wins Kenosha Invite
The combined Mukwonago/Kettle Moraine varsity girls gymnastics team keeps impressing.
This time the squad took their act to the Kenosha Invite, winning with 141.420 points.
Sheboygan combined was second at 140.10, and Arrowhead ended up third at 137.50.
Eight teams were in the meet Saturday.
Natalie Straszewski was the all-around winner at 37.375. Taylor Weis was sixth and Mandi Sinkler was 14th at 33.275. Straszewski and Weis finished first and second respectively in the uneven bars at 9.525 and 9.400.
Taylor Rozman was fourth on the balance beam with a score of 9.250.
Mukwonago/Kettle Moraine won despite the absence of Amanda Ward and Sam Tabat, both sidelined due to illness.
"Our depth and determination keep us afloat," coach Margie Canfield said. "We emphasize fun at the meets; if they get too serious then they put too much pressure on themselves. When the team is having fun while competing, the routines just flow."
