Alleged killer escapes
620 WTMJ radio is reporting that alleged murderer Justin Welch has escaped from custody while being transported back to Wisconsin to face charges of killing Kimberly Smith of Oconomowoc.
Welch allegedly stabbed one transport officer and shot another in Arkansas before stealing their van, according to reports. The officers had picked Welch up in California, where he was arrested, and were bringing him back to Wisconsin.
