Bremer and Kopfer face off in Supervisor 2 race

Town of Ashippun – A political newcomer is challenging the incumbent in the race for Supervisor 2 in the Town of Ashippun.

William Bremer is seeking the post held by Roger Kopfer since 2001.

Both candidates were asked why someone should vote for them.

"To have more fair and honest government; better snow removal and taking the trees and brush away from the edge of the road so you can see the deer better when driving," Bremer responded.

Kopfer pointed to his experience.

"I have eight years on the board. I'm always open to people, and if I'm not there, I return their call," he said.

The candidates differ on their views regarding the biggest problem facing the community.

"Applying the law equitably," Bremer said.

"This has been an ongoing problem for the last 30 years that I have been going to meetings. It's probably the primary thing I get upset over," he added.

The incumbent said issues with Davy Creek are the most pressing concern facing the town. He has set that as his goal for the new term if re-elected.

"It needs to be dug out so that the water flows. It needs to be dredged out," he said.
