Municipal, schools on tap Tuesday

Numerous races will be decided Tuesday.

Contested municipal races will be held in the Towns of Summit, Ixonia and Ashippun and the City of Oconomowoc.

Chief Justice Shirley Abrahamson, is being challenged by Jefferson County Circuit Court Judge Randy Koschnick. In the race for state superintendent, Mukwonago native Rose Fernandez will take on Deputy Public Instruction Superintendent Tony Evers.

Here is a listing of area polling stations. All polls open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m.

City of Oconomowoc

Wards 1, 2, 3, 20 and 21, Greenland School, 440 Coolidge St.; Wards 4, 5, 6, 14 and 22 Community Center, 324 W. Wisconsin Ave.; Wards 7, 8, 9, 17, 18 and 19 Senior High School, 641 E. Forest St.; Wards 10 -16, 23-25 Oconomowoc Public Library, 200 South St. District 3 alderman incumbent Mike Miller faces newcomers Cathleen Slattery and Bruce Hinkforth. Longtime District 2 Alderman Edwin Hollatz faces former mayor Gary Kohlenberg.

Town of Ashippun

All Wards, Ashippun Town Hall, W1266 Highway O. Two longtime residents James H. Meyer and Syl Hoerth (inc.) compete for Supervisor 1. Newcomer William Bremer challenges Roger Kopfer for Supervisor 2. Steve Panozzo vies for Town Chairman against eight-year incumbent James Schoenike.

Town of Ixonia

All Wards, Ixonia Town Hall, W1195 Marietta Ave. Political newcomer Joseph A. Busateri challenges veteran supervisors Joe Mallow and Peter Mark for two open supervisor posts.

Town of Oconomowoc

Wards 1, 2 and 4 Town Hall, W359 N6812 Brown St.; 3, 6 and 7 at Lord of Life Lutheran Church, N60 W35980 Lake Drive (Highways P and Z), 5, 8 and 9 at Okauchee Fire Station, W349 N5060 Shady Lane.

Town of Summit

All Wards, Summit Town Hall, 2911 N. Dousman Road, Oconomowoc. Two supervisor seats are open. Incumbent Jack Riley faces Scott Piefer, James Breen and Elizabeth Dow.

Village of Lac La Belle

All Wards, Sang Hall, 600 Lac La Belle Drive.

Village of Oconomowoc Lake

Ward reports to Village Hall, 35328 Pabst Road.

School race

Electors vote for school board at their regular municipal polling places. Don Wiemer and John Griswold are seeking re-election. Candidate Tom Martin threw his hat into the ring for both the School Board and Town of Oconomowoc board elections March 9 but his name will still appear on the ballot.
