Man charged with assaulting girl, 17

Police suspect man may have assaulted five other girls

Waukesha — A 19-year-old former Oconomowoc area man charged last week with allegedly sexually assaulting a teenage girl who was intoxicated Dec. 5, is facing the possibility of more charges as police think he might have assaulted 10 other girls.

Jacob D. Rezutek, 19, of Waukesha was charged Feb. 19 in Waukesha County Circuit Court with a felony count of second-degree sexual assault of an intoxicated victim. A court commissioner set cash bond for Rezutek at $10,000.

According to the criminal complaint, Rezutek was with a 17-year-old girl and an 18-year-old woman Dec. 5 at Rezutek's apartment in the 500 block of Bluemound Road to watch a movie. According to court records, Rezutek previously lived in the City of Oconomowoc.

The girl told police she had drank a large amount of vodka in a short period of time, and the woman and Rezutek began to "make out" while all three were lying on his bed, the complaint said. After a time, the girl said the alcohol began to take effect, and Rezutek allegedly inappropriately touched her, the complaint said.

The girl told police that while she was on a bed, "half-passed out," she saw Rezutek and the woman having sex, the complaint said.

The girl said Rezutek then allegedly molested her, the complaint said. The girl told police she was so drunk she could not move or do anything about it and after that "everything went black," the complaint said.

The girl also told police she had consensual sex with Rezutek about five times in February through March, 2009, when she was 16 years old.

According to a Waukesha police statement, the incident was reported to police Jan. 14. An investigation led to five additional victims, ranging in age from 14 to 17, with some living in Waukesha and Oconomowoc. Waukesha police later updated the number of possible victims to at least 10.

"Some were forced into having sex with the suspect, while others were assaulted after being given intoxicants. A search warrant was executed on (Rezutek's) residence and drugs and items of pornography were seized," according to the statement.

"We encourage anyone with information about this suspect to come forward," said the press release. Anyone with information should contact Detective Shelly Fisher of the Waukesha Police Department at (262) 424-5931.

Police said Rezutek is a registered sex offender, but he is not listed on the state's online registry. He was released from Ethan Allen School for Boys last year and lived in Okauchee before moving to Waukesha. Rezutek, a student at Waukesha County Technical College, is required to be registered as a sex offender until 2024.

He is scheduled to appear in court March 1 for a preliminary hearing.

Rezutek was also charged Feb. 4 with burglary for an Aug. 27 incident he allegedly committed with two other men. He is scheduled to appear in court March 8 for a preliminary hearing.
