Books and Co. robbed Tuesday

Woman makes verbal threats to employee, leaves with money

City of Oconomowoc - Around 2:30 on Feb. 5, Police Chief David Beguhn said officers responded to a call from Books & Company in Witman Park. The bookstore had been robbed.

A woman entered the store and made verbal threats and left with cash, an undisclosed amount at this time. No weapon was visible, according to Beguhn. Police are describing the woman as white, 5-feet-5-inches tall with a thin build and possibly in her early 20s.

The woman then left in a brown, four-door 1998 Toyota Camry with a license plate of 814FUB. There were three other men inside the vehicle, which headed south from the parking lot.

Books and Company is a small, independently-owned and community-based bookstore that's been serving the area since 1983. A store employee indicated that the shop remained open for their customers after the incident.

The matter is under investigation and the Oconomowoc Police Department has said in a news release that they are currently following up on possible leads.
