Athletic Fields Forever

Ready for upgrade

From the archive in 2010, Oconomowoc High School began preliminary discussions on a master plan for the outdoor athletics facilities, including a new soccer complex, artificial turf for the football stadium and a litany of additional improvements. The "Athletic Fields Forever" campaign was born.

The Green Bay Packers have scheduled a preseason game on the same Friday night as the first high-school football game of 2014. Does that hurt the high-school game?

Oconomowoc drivers, start your engines

Matt Kenseth of Cambridge draws a lot of attention wherever his travels take him. Whether it's racing at the Camping Road RV Sales 301 in New Hampshire, where he finished fourth on July 13, signing autographs before the 35th annual Slinger Nationals, or simply signing autographs while taking in a basketball tournament in the winter at St. Jerome's, he's always in the fast lane with the fans. | July 15, 2014

Titans earn Land O'Lakes split

Going into the season, the Oconomowoc Titans Land O'Lakes Southwest Division baseball team had high hopes of being strong contenders to win the regular-season title. All of the pieces appeared to be there for that to happen. | July 15, 2014

Oconomowoc Post 91 defeated Lomira on July 9 at Roosevelt Field, 11-2. Josh Hottinger started on the mound for Oconomowoc, Zach Clayton pitched the middle innings and Matt Sukovich came on in the sixth and seventh. | July 13, 2014

Five O's show life, no kidding

Oconomowoc's veteran amateur baseball team isn't having the best of times this season in the Land O' Lakes Western Division, but they still showed life in the lesser-known Tri County Nite League a week ago. | July 2, 2014

Bowling keeps shrinking in Lake Country and Waukesha

Drive by just about any bowling alley in the Lake Country area on a late Sunday morning or early Sunday afternoon and you'll see few, if any, cars in the parking lot. There's a good chance that some of the bowling centers won't even be open. | June 30, 2014
