Sussex cuts down on biz, industry zones

Village of Sussex — The Village Board voted unanimously last Tuesday to simplify its business and industrial zoning descriptions, cutting them down from 11 categories to seven.

Sussex plans $5.2-million reconstruction project

Village of Sussex — The Village Board will hold a public meeting at 5:30 p.m. next Tuesday on an estimated $5.2-million road reconstruction and sewer- and water-line replacement project for Spring Green Heights.

We could all use a little warmth

Sussex-area Outreach Services (SOS) announces the fourth annual Night to Warm Your Heart beverage tasting and auction at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 19 at the Silver Spring Country Club. The event will include live and silent auctions to raise money for SOS programs and to further the SOS vision of, "Improving lives and building strong community through: Awareness, Assistance, Advocacy and Supportive Listening." SOS clients include seniors, working families, single parents, individuals and children residing in the Sussex-Hamilton school district.

Gypsy moth spraying slated for next summer in town

Town of Lisbon — The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) intends to aerial spray to control gypsy moth caterpillars next summer in two northeastern neighborhoods in the town and has scheduled an informational meeting on the proposed spraying on Feb. 11.
