Village considers other Main Street options

Village of Sussex - Village officials are uncertain - and perhaps somewhat divided - over which alternative to choose for the reconstruction of Main Street between Locust Street and Waukesha Avenue after the Village Board last week unanimously rejected the idea of installing three roundabouts.

Town of Lisbon - Colgate Road, which for decades has served Lisbon residents as a north-south connector road to Highway Q, will be closed permanently sometime between June 5 and 15,according to town officials.

VFW Horne-Mudlitz Post 6377 of Sussex invites the community to the annual Memorial Day parade that will begin at 1 p.m. on Monday, May 28.

Library agreement may be near

Negotiators for the Town of Lisbon and the Village of Sussex are apparently closing in on a new formula for funding the Pauline Haass Library, but the Town Board is not likely to vote on the proposal until after an Aug. 14 advisory referendum on consolidating the two communities.
