Lisbon fire under investigation
House destroyed but some personal items salvaged
Town of Lisbon — Authorities are continuing their investigation into the cause of a fire that destroyed the home of Bruce Johns at N57 W 22511 Fox Hollow Drive on Thanksgiving eve.
Town Fire Chief Doug Brahm and Lt. James Gumm of the Waukesha County Sheriff's office said county detectives and state fire officials are assisting the Lisbon Fire Department in determining the cause of the blaze.
Brahm said the home was engulfed in flames when Lisbon firefighters arrived at about 9 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 25. Firefighters from the Villages of Hartland and Richfield assisted the town department in fighting the blaze. Firefighters from the Village of Lannon and Delafield were also initially summoned for help but were returned to their stations.
The fire destroyed the house and its contents, but personal possessions in the basement were salvaged, according to the chief.
Johns was out of town at the time of the fire
