Sussex man pleads guilty to thefts
Waukesha - A Sussex man will be sentenced Feb. 16 for a series of thefts last year.
Christopher L. Vogel, 22, of N64 W24186 Main St., who is being held in Waukesha County Jail, has entered guilty pleas Jan. 23 in Waukesha County Circuit Court to two counts of misdemeanor theft and one felony count of theft.
Vogel is accused of stealing a spool of copper wire off a truck at Duecos, N4 W22610 Bluemound Road, City of Pewaukee and copper wire from a We Energies property at 620 Progress Ave., City of Waukesha, both on Nov. 29, according to separate criminal complaints.
Vogel is also accused of stealing about $9,000 worth of items from a Waukesha apartment where he had been staying. Jesse Priesgen told police he allowed Vogel to stay at the apartment while he went to Wyoming for work. Vogel is accused of stealing about 300 DVDs, 150 video games, a DVD player and a 32-inch television, the complaint said. He was charged in May for those offenses.
Police learned Vogel sold the DVDs at a Brookfield pawnshop for about $112 and he sold the television and DVD player to a friend for $500. Police did recover the electronic items, the complaint said.
Vogel was implicated in a third complaint for stealing scrap metal from Pressed Metal Corp., 1330 Pearl St., and Alloy Products, 1203 Main St., both located in Waukesha on Aug. 27. Those charged were dismissed in a plea agreement with prosecutors.
