Call to Artists for Fine Arts Fair

The Richfield Historical Society is sponsoring its 5th annual Art at the Mill, a fine arts and plein air fair. The event will be held on July 27, 2013, at the beautiful Richfield Historical Park located in Washington County.

Artists are invited to submit an application at this time. Exhibitors’ media will include photography, glass, fiber, jewelry, woodworking, painting/drawing, clay, metal, needlework, sculpture, and mixed media. By applying before June 20, 2013, a $10 discount will be given on the booth fee.

For the plein air painters, there are a great variety of subjects for your work of art: wooded areas, bubbling creek, distant view of Holy Hill, historic buildings including a grist mill and farm house, log cabin and barn, timber frame buildings, antique farming equipment, large gas engine, wooden bridge, and natural landscape. Painting will take place in the morning with works of art being on display in the afternoon.

This is a fundraising event to help with the restoration of the Messer/Mayer Grist Mill located in the Richfield Historical Park. This mill is almost 150 year old and has all of its original equipment intact, just waiting to become operational.

For both exhibitors and plein air painters, visit the Richfield Historical Society’s website at www.richfieldhistoricalsociety.org and click on the Call for Artists: Art at the Mill, July 27, 2013 link located on the Home Page. Links to Exhibitor registration forms and guidelines are located there with Plein Air artists’ form and guidelines being available in the future.
