Library and Schauer Center Partner for Laura Ingalls Wilder
March 19, 2014 – Hartford, WI – The Schauer Arts & Activities Center and the Jack Russell Memorial Library encourage appreciation of the arts and support literacy by jumping from page to stage. Sponsored by Friends of the Library, From Page to Stage offers youth the chance to enter into a drawing for a FREE book that corresponds to a Family Series performance at the Schauer Center.
The next From Page to Stage collaboration is for Laura Ingalls Wilder. Based on the Little House on the Prairie books, Laura and her family travel across America in search of a place they can call home. Facing objects such as scarlet fever and eviction from their land, their pioneering spirit and family bonds are tested but never broken.
The Library, located at 100 Park Avenue in Hartford, will host arts & crafts activities on Wednesday, April 16 from 3:30 to 4:30 pm and Saturday, April 19 from 10:30 to 11:30 am in the Community Room. Youth who attend either of these free programs at the Library will receive a complimentary paperback copy of Little House on the Prairie by Laura Ingalls Wilder and a coupon for a free student/child ticket to see the live performance at the Schauer Center. While supplies last; free books/coupons are limited. Visit HartfordLibrary.org or call 262-673-8240 for more information.
The 60-minute performance of Laura Ingalls Wilder will be playing at the Schauer Center on Friday, May 2 at 7:00 pm. Recommended for ages 4 and up, tickets are $13 for adults, $10 for students (13 and up), $8 for children (12 and under), and $5 for lap seats (3 and under).
