Celebrate Spring with Schauer Community School of the Arts
April 16, 2014—Hartford, WI— The Schauer Youth & Children’s Choirs and Schauer Youth String Orchestra will present their annual spring concert on Saturday, May 10 at 2:00 pm. The program will include traditional and contemporary tunes for the entire family to enjoy, including selections by J.S. Bach, Susan H. Day, Merle J. Isaac, and Rimsky-Korsakov. The Orchestras will combine to perform Pocahontas, and the Choirs and Orchestras will combine to perform a finale of Our America.
The Children’s Choir, under the direction of Abby Bordak, is composed of 12 students in grades 5K-2. The Youth Choir, which is made up of 14 students in grades 3-8, is under the direction of Lori Hassig. Schauer Youth String Orchestra consists of Presto Strings and Bravura Strings, under the direction of Phil Scales. The Presto Strings is made up of four students and Bravura Strings has nine students.
Following the concert there will be a complimentary reception in the Schauer Center’s Pikes Peak banquet room. The audience is invited to meet the performers, instructors, and to learn more about the choir and orchestra program offerings.
Tickets to the Schauer Spring Concert are $5 for adults and $2 for children/students. Tickets can be purchased at the Schauer Center Box Office Monday-Friday from 11:30 am to 5:30 pm and Saturday from 11:30 am to 2:00 pm at 147 N. The Schauer Children’s Choir, Schauer Youth Choir, and Schauer Youth String Orchestra are a part of the Schauer Center’s Community School of the Arts, offering visual and performing arts education for students of all ages, levels, and visions.
