Santana Dotson returns with friends for the Santana Dotson Celebrity Kickball Tourney
Former Packer Santana Dotson and several of his friends will be hosting the Santana Dotson Celebrity Kickball Tourney at Wales Community Park on June 8, 2014. While Dotson lives in Houston, this marks the second time he has returned to the Waukesha area this year to benefit needy children.
Partnering with a From Our Village community liaison last January, the Dotson Foundation, along with Interfaith Senior Programs, St. Luke's Lutheran Church, the Book Fairy's Daughter, Kettle Moraine Volleyball Academy, Kettle Moraine Middle School, Waukesha School District, & others, served a hot meal to hundreds of needy students and their families. Each family received warm coats, hats, mittens, books & a goody bag.
Dotson's Kickball Tourney will raise money to provide a picnic in August for the same group of students and provide them with backpacks, school supplies, & haircuts & styles prior to the start of school. Interfaith Senior Programs and From Our Village will be working with the Salvation Army, the Backpack Coalition, the United Way & corporate sponsors to collaborate with Dotson on the event. Corporate sponsorship is $500; this includes recognition at the event and on team shirts. The event is limited to 12 teams & there are still a few slots available. To register, email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 262.617.7307. Spectators are encouraged to bring new school supplies as admission to the tournament.
