Cast Announced for UW-Waukesha Children’s Play, Cinderella! Cinderella!

WAUKESHA, Wis. – Jeff Smerz, who has directed summer children’s theatre productions at the University of Wisconsin-Waukesha for the past four years, has selected a cast of eight students and community members for the upcoming children’s production Cinderella! Cinderella!, a classic fairy tale with a twist.

Appearing in the ensemble production are: John Frances Reilly, North Prairie; The Prince Steven Cotton, Brookfieldl; Master Harold Deborah Skidmore, Richfield; Prunella Carly Malison, Milwaukee; Cinderella Caleb Ebbott, Waukesha; Tom Cat Kathryn Ehlers, Brookfield; Lady Lotta Bonbon Elizabeth Magnor, Milwaukee; Fairy Godmother Jacalyn Nolan, Waukesha; Crudella

In an English village in 1342, Cinderella, a plain looking girl with big feet, has to compete with her two mean-spirited but stunningly gorgeous stepsisters for the hand of the kind and sincere prince. With the help of her faithful feline companion, Tom, and a lovable but vision-impaired Fairy Godmother who’s always using the wrong wand, Cinderella finally learns that magic isn’t the answer to her problems.Written by Edith Weiss, this comic delight for all ages is presented through Pioneer Drama Service, Inc.

Performances of Cinderella! Cinderella! will be held Monday-Friday, August 10-14 at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. All performances take place in the Lunt-Fontanne Theater, located on the UW-Waukesha campus in the Fine Arts Center on campus at 1500 N. University Dr. All seating is general admission.

The UW-Waukesha Lunt-Fontanne Ensemble presents a wide variety of productions including a summer musical production of Working, July 16-18 and July 24-25 at 7:30pm and Sunday, July 26 at 2 p.m.

The 2009-10 theatre season also includes comedies, Duck Hunter Shoots Angel by Mitch Albom on November 5-7 (7:30 p.m.) and November 8 (2 p.m.) and Thieves by Doug Bedwell on April 15, 16 and 17 (7:30 p.m. and April 16 at 2 p.m.). As a college theatre program, education is the primary goal, and shows are performed in all genres.
