Citizen's Cross Country Ski Race is ON
The Race is ON! Thanks to Mother Nature, the cross-country ski community will be able to participate in the Waukesha County Citizen’s Cross Country Ski Race this Saturday, January 2nd at Nashotah Park.
The race began in 1979, as the interest in cross country skiing was escalating. It was designed mainly to give exposure to the sport, introduce the public to Waukesha County Park’s network of ski trails and to provide weekend athletes a chance to test themselves in a fun low-key setting. Over the years, it has become a very competitive race with hundreds of participants and people coming from as far as Illinois and Iowa.
The last race was held in 2008. There are divisions for Children (1 mile & 5km), Women (5km & 12.5km) & Men (5km & 12.5km).
