Here's a rich and hearty recipe for family and friends to share this St. Patrick's Day holiday or anytime you're feeling a little Irish:

Recipe: Corned Beef Soup

Ingredients:

* 1 pound Corned Beef brisket (can be pre-cooked)

* 1 onion chopped into 1/4 inch chunks

* 2 carrots chopped into 1/4 inch chunks

* 1 celery stalk cut into 1/4 inch chunks

* 10 baby red potatoes chopped into 1/4 inch chunks

* 3 cups chicken base * 1 garlic clove * Pinch of thyme

* Salt and pepper to taste

Directions: 1. If using a traditional corned beef brisket, prepare in a slow cooker or Dutch oven according to instructions.

2. Peel the potatoes and cover with water. Bring them to a boil and simmer for about 10 minutes. Set aside.

3. Chop the cooled potatoes, carrots, onion and celery into 1/4 inch chunks.

4. Sauté the remaining vegetables starting with the carrots (about 7 minutes), onions (about 5 minutes) and celery (for 3 minutes).

5. Cut the corned beef into small cubes; be sure to cut it across the grain so the meat will be more tender.

6. Combine all ingredients in the slow cooker or Dutch oven and add the chicken base, garlic clove (smashed), and seasonings.

7. Stir the mixture and simmer for about 20 minutes.

8. Spoon into dishes and serve piping hot.

Lee's Cleveland Pub & Grill offers more than 80 fine beers, including several Irish, craft and seasonal brews sure to complement any traditional holiday dishes.

Here are several beers that Beer Capitol Distributing - Lake Country suggests:

* Murphy's Irish Stout - A lighter and sweeter dry stout, Murphy's is free from any hint of carbonation. With flavors of caramel and malt, this brew carries a more intense, darker and heartier flavored nature than other like brews.

* George Killian's Irish Red - Based on the Killian family's recipe created for George Killian's brewery in Enniscorthy, Ireland in 1864, this traditional lager derives its color and taste from a special caramel malted barley that is roasted to a high temperature longer and more slowly than most malts.

* Samuel Adams Noble Pils - Brewed with 5 Noble hops for a distinct hop character and fresh taste, this beer is deep golden in color with a citrusy hop aroma.

* Down 'n Dirty Chocolate Oatmeal Stout - The newest beer from Tyranena, this oatmeal stout blends chocolate and brown malts that give it flavor and a velvety black color. It starts with a smooth, chocolate flavor upfront, then finishes with a sharp maltiness flavor.

* Capital Brewery Blonde Dopplebock - A sunny-colored dopplebock, this beer boasts a satiny medium-full body of enveloping layers of caramel, toasted grains and breads, marmalade, and delicate spices.
